A few things about AS I CAME OF AGE...
I don't have much to say about this album really, except that LOVE CHANGES EVERYTHING is from the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical ASPECTS OF LOVE.
The song had originally been done by Michael Ball (who was cast as the main lead in the London production) as a single prior to the opening of the musical. Released on January 30th, 1989, the song was an immediate hit. It reached the No. 2 position on the British charts four weeks later. It was then the best performance ever by a song from a musical. It was also Andrew Lloyd Webber's tenth TOP TEN single from one of his nine shows.
An interesting footnote of ASPECTS OF LOVE is that Roger Moore (yes, James Bond himself... well... one of them anyways...) had been signed to play one of the roles in the original production, but he finally decided against doing it. He had signed for a 6-month run of the play in London, but after 6 weeks of rehearsals, he decided he was too uneasy about the musical aspects of his role to go ahead.
Miss Sarah played the character Rose in the Los Angeles and New York City production of ASPECTS OF LOVE in 1991, after leaving the role of Christine in THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA.
Miss Sarah also recorded ANYTHING BUT LONELY, another song from ASPECTS OF LOVE. This is another song of hers that keeps popping up on those Andrew Lloyd Webber albums.
A very good music video of ANYTHING BUT LONELY was also done by Miss Sarah and is included on the video and DVD compilation of THE PREMIERE COLLECTION ENCORE: THE MUSIC OF ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER. Another music video in this compilation features Michael Ball singing LOVE CHANGES EVERYTHING.
And I mentionned something on the main page about us gigglin' and laughin' at GOOD MORNING STARSHINE because of that funny ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS episode. Oh, and the song is also used in that episode of THE SIMPSONS where Homer encounters "an alien", who turns out to be Mr. Burns. Of course, we only find that out at the end of the show, after Homer is visited by Agent Scully and Agent Maulder, from the X-FILES (with guest voices by Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny). At the beginning of the program, even Leonard Nimoy is dragged into this mess, in a parody of his "IN SEARCH OF..." series from the 70ies. At the end of the program, everyone sings GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE, as the sun rises over the city and Mr. Burns returns to his crabby self...
And lest we forget, the song is of course from the musical HAIR.

Oh, and I have also read somewhere that BOWLING GREEN is one of Miss Sarah's favorite songs... Search me as to why that is...
