Encore: The Music Of Andrew Lloyd Webber

This collection of 14 songs taken from a series of blockbuster musicals by Andrew Lloyd Webber was first released as a cd and as such, we have also included it on our ALBUM page. The video compilation is a great companion piece to it, as it shows us the splendor and opulence that have come to be a trademark of those Lloyd Webber musicals.

Most of the songs are performed here by the artists who have made them famous and/or who premiered them in the London version of the musicals.

Miss Sarah has several videos in this anthology and one of our favorite is ANYTHING BUT LONELY, from ASPECTS OF LOVE... It is nice to see the difference a few years have made in the way she sings. One need only to look at her performance in the video of ALL I ASK OF YOU and then see her doing ANYTHING BUT LONELY from ASPECT OF LOVE, which she did for a short while during the run of the play in London. LOVES CHANGES EVERYTHING, sung here by Michael Ball, has also been done by Miss Sarah and released on several of those Andrew Lloyd Webber BEST OF... cds.

And of course her version of THE MUSIC OF THE NIGHT from THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (originaly written for her she says in the EDEN dvd interview) has been a part of her EDEN and LA LUNA concerts. It gives those of us who have not seen her in the original production of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical a taste of what we missed...

It is also on this compilation that you will find the music video for the song PIE JESU from the album REQUIEM. In case you have read the page for this recording of the Andrew Lloyd Webber REQUIEM mass, you will know how special this song is for me.
