The album EDEN...
EDEN (1999 Angel Records)... Our favorite Miss Sarah album...
It didn't start out this way though. I remember buying the cd and listening to it that very night. I was also working on some f*****g report from work while the album was playing so I am afraid I was not paying too much attention to the music. When the cd was over, I thought, oh well, everyone's allowed a so-so album once in a while. I then put the cd away for a bit.
A couple of weeks later, I had to go to Montréal on business and I packed all my Miss Sarah cds to take with me, as I always do when I am travelling. After settling comfortably on the bus (yes, it can be done), I thought I would give EDEN another listen... Low and behold, right then and there, the most beautiful music filled my ears !!!
From beginning to end, the album is a pure delight... I could go on and on about how great it is, but I might drown in my own drool (well, you asked...) so I will just tell you to go buy it and hear for yourself.
When I came back from my trip and told the pengies how awesome EDEN was, they gasped, then hit me on the head with their daily TOBLERONE bar, for having ever doubted the music of Miss Sarah... I must say, for once, that I deserved to be on the tail end of their wrath... Of course, ever since then, they've never let me forget it.
Oh, we were watching TITANIC the other night and at the end, they started singing IL MIO CUORE VA, to drown out (i know, bad pun) Celine Dion. Anyone is Vegas with a showroom listening ?
And low and behold, one day a few years ago, I was able to get a poster of the album cover on EBAY. It was expensive to have it shipped here from Germany, but it was worth it. It is in my living room as we speak (well... type) and it is making people green with envy. And the penguins coo... And me too I must admit...
I also purchased the Taiwan edition of the album, which comes in a very nice red box and had a video cd with live performances of Miss Sarah in Tapei. But wait !!! There's more !!! I also bought the U.S. audiophile version which also has a video cd with the music videos for EDEN, DELIVER ME and WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER. But wait !!! There is still more !!! Now I am poor !!!
But happy :)
Of course now, the penguins keep bugging me to buy one of those expensive portable dvd player system so we can take the videos with us when we go away for the weekend. Christmas for them is never over. I sometimes think they will not rest until they have emptied out every SONY store this side of Jupiter.
Anyoooo, as I mentionned before, go buy this album if you don't already have it and enjoy ... You will thank me later... Gift certificates and cash will be accepted.
