The album HAREM...
At last !!! A new album from Miss Sarah !!!
Me and the pengies went gaga the day we heard that, after 2 "BEST OF..." albums, Miss Sarah was finally releasing a new album !!! The album HAREM was released this fall, in 2003, by Nemo Studios.
I must admit that I was a bit concerned about the choice of music when I first saw the track listing. The pengies, true to form, were already learning the dance of the seven veils and using my good lame Christmas table cloth in the process. You have not lived until you have seen Wikkeddy wrapped in $200 RALPH LAUREN table cloth bumping and grinding...
Well, my fears, as always, proved groundless (meaning the new album, the penguins IS another story). Wether she is singing classical or arabian music, Miss Sarah is simply the best !!! I can take my 40 lashes now for doubting her. Lemme use lotion first, I bruise and chap easily.
This album is awesome !!! It is now our second favorite CD, after EDEN and sharing the number two spot with DIVE. The pengies love it of course because they can "flipper to it", i.e. shake their feathered bumbums and wiggle and waddle to the music. I was able to buy some of the remix CDS on EBAY so now, it's hex hector twirling time. I am glad because it usually leaves them exhausted. A pooped pengie is, as Martha Stewart would say, a good thing.
Back to the CD.
There were 2 versions of the CD on sale for the first couple of weeks it was out. I bought the one with the DVD and we could not wait to see it !!! We went to my sister's that weekend and we practicaly melted the from watching it. The HAREM video is awesome of course and, like so many of you'z, we can't wait until the version of BEAUTIFUL on the dvd becomes widely available. It is an awesome remix !!! Not to take away from the album version of course, which complements so well one of my favorite piece of music, the MISERERE.
I have always a big fan of the song WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD and I must say that, again, Miss Sarah has done a cover version that is both different and original. The pengies like it too although for them any song about a wonderful world that does not mention "chocolate" makes them scratch their heads. Don't ask...
And, once again, Miss Sarah sings in French on the album, doing 2 great songs called TOUT CE QUE JE SAIS et GUERI DE TOI. As I mentionned before, anytime Miss Sarah sings in French, the pengies just go gaga and start cooing. Between you and me, and I will deny it if you say anything, I do too.
Anyooo, it is a wonderful album and again, I could go on and on about it but I will let you be the judge. As I write this Miss Sarah is less than a month away from coming here for the HAREM tour and I am counting the dodos till that wednesday comes !!!
Thank you again for a wonderful album Miss Sarah !!! We love you !!! We can't wait to see you at The Corel Center in a month !!!
